The Research On The Hongzunyuchang Bohai Graveyard Site, Ning'an

Bohai Graveyard site is not only an important component in archaeology during Bohai period, but also the major materials to make research on Bohai history, while Hongzunyuchang cemetery is one of the most important sites. So far, excavations of the Hongzunyuchang Bohai Graveyard site have lasted the longest period with the largest number of tombs excavated, the largest quantities of relics unearthed and the most complex tomb structure found. Overall excavations unearthed 323 tombs, 7 pyramid-shaped platforms, and one house. Excavations and studies of this graveyard site will provide reliable benchmarks to identify the cultural phases of the Bohai Kingdom. There are six parts in this paper.1)The preface. This part tells compendia of the Hongzunyuchang Bohai Graveyard site's geographical position, natural conditions, the product of excavation and the main content of this paper.2)The brief history of work. In this section, the author mainly makes a brief description of the archaeological research and field work since its discovery.3)The shape and structure of the tombs. This section is to describe history of research about the shape classifications of Bohai tombs. On the basis of previous survey and excavation materials, the author reclassified 301 out of 323 tombs preserved in the Hongzunyuchang Bohai Graveyard site, which can be identified. They can be divided into six sorts, such as stone grave, Stone outer coffin tomb, brick tomb, etc. Besides, burial customs and pottery analysis are also introduced in this chapter.4)Analysis to the transformation and the grade of tombs. Based on the conclusions above, we can summarize the differences and similarities of these sites, thus to confirm their evolution relationship. More importantly, we can find out the time order and changes of all these sites.5)The remainder of discussion. Compare the Hongzunyuchang Bohai Graveyard site and its relationship with other Graveyard sites (the Liudingshan tombs), the author tries to discuss various types of tombs and the sequence of potteries found in the sites.6)Conclusion. Summary the whole paper.
