Chinese rural bird and flower painting draws the environment that associated with agriculture and images such as plants, birds, farm tools and so on to create a village atmosphere. Thanks to the guidance of Mao Zedong Thought, Contemporary rural bird and flower painting emerged and is blooming in nowadays because of the Reform and opening up. A large number of rural bird and flower painting has emerged in the new period of Chinese art history as an important contribution of artists. In recent years theorists study has paid little attention to rural bird and flower painting. This article based on the rural bird and flower painting's formation and development and the formation of contemporary try to study the characteristics of contemporary rural bird and flower painting.This article is divided into three sections:The first chapter is researching the painting's producing and development by studying Prey thought, Implicit thought and Interesting thought which come from the "Book of Songs" and Tao's Hermitage Rural ideas in his time and the Five flower painter Xu Xi. The pursuit of freedom and self-cultivation also contributed to forming the painting's style.The second chapter focuses on the new policy of Chinese literature and art, contemporary country artists' experience to explore the creation of contemporary rural bird and flower painting. Thanks to Mao Zedong Thought, contemporary Chinese rural bird and flower painting was becoming mature and appeared more excellent works, such as Yang Deheng's "Harvest season ", Guo Weiqu's "return Xing ", Ye Qiqing's "Autumn Sound" and so on.The last chapter based on some typical works to discuss the situation of contemporary Rural bird and flower painting in term of content, mood, form, color, style, and the influences of upholding the traditional Chinese painting and absorbing elements of other paintings.Contemporary rural bird and flower painting displays a multiple collision of the aesthetic ideas and diverse values via blending Chinese and Western cultures. The painting shows our country's development and social progress and reflects the spirit of our people of this period.
