Work hoped-for selves derive from possible selves theory, and refer to the descriptions of individuals want to have the ideal self image of occupation in future situation. They are both part of the vocational self-concept and the psychological experience of the typical self under future situation. And under the certain social culture background they have individual adaptive significance.Contemporary college students face fierce employment competition and pressure. Knowing their characteristics of work hoped-for possible selves can improve career guidance and education. In the present, the domestic college students' work possible questionnaire adopts foreign theory, and each subscale has the same item. Whether the questionnaire can test the characteristics of our college students worth discussing. Therefore, this study based on the possible selves theory, aims to develop a questionnaire of college students' work hoped-for selves to investigate their situations, which can be helpful for their employment decision and guidance.Through former studies, operational definition, open-ended investigation and asking for experts, we constructed a six factors models of college students' work hoped-for selves, and developed a questionnaire for college students' work hoped-for selves, via exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis, we formed formal questionnaire. And further investigated the characteristics of college students' work hoped-for selves and the relation between it and life satisfaction.Preliminary results of this study show:1. The college students' work hoped-for selves content six factors:Personal development, Social value, Vocational reputation, Vocational regional, Autonomy and Innovative.2. Based on the six factors, the questionnaire of college students' work hoped-for selves had good reliability and validity and could be used to measure the college students' work hoped-for selves. 3. Female college students' work hoped-for selves were significantly higher than male students.4. College students' work hoped-for selves were positively related with life satisfactory, and all dimensions except vocational reputation could be used to predict for life satisfactory.
