The first decade of the 21st century is the prosperous period for the development of China's TV series of military topics. Director Kang Honglei's three military opera masterpiece, "Time of Burning Passion", "Soldiers Sortie," and "My Commander and My Regiment," have created a series of military heroes for China's TV series of military topics by a strong sense of innovation, a deep and sincere expression of emotion, a consistent quality and a deep concern of the society and history as well as the introspection that the works contains.What can be called a hero? When confronted with the real life, how can a "Hero" become possible? This thesis tries to make a genre study of the hero topic featured in Kang Honglei's works through both theoretical and practical ways and to sort it out by putting it into the situation of the development of China's military-topic TV series under the multicultural context. It also tries to gives a deep probe into the significance of the aesthetic culture of his works and to illustrate the significant example that he sets through the innovative features in his works for the development of China's TV series.
