From the overall perspective of both Chinese and foreign literary history, there seems an everlasting trend that cultural and philosophical thought permeate into literature. However, the way of the permeation is always changeable on account of different writers. This may be the essential power that the form of novel has been innovated from time to time. In this dissertation, firstly, I concentrate on describing and analyzing the narrator of Pamuk's novels from three perspectives, examing its innovative and pioneering significance in the context of novel history, and researching the process of narrator changement as well as the formation of narrator. And then, I follow Pamuk's creative process as the main stream to initiate analysis, discuss the features of stream of consciousness, and make clear that how this artistical methodology influence Pamuk's novel writing. At last, I investigate Pamuk's novels in the context of the new historicism from outside of the work, and find out how Pamuk completes the second narrative turning in terms of art form. Based on these three aspects mentioned above, the motivation of Pamuk's nonlineal narrative can be discussed clearly, meanwhile, the analysis of his narrative art has been fulfilled from both the microscopic and macroscopic view. In general, from the narrative stream "object-fragmentation-storyline", I attempt to explore Pamuk's narrative art in a fundamental and effective way.
