Turkish writer Orhan Pamuk was the 2006 Nobel Prize winner. Cultural hybridity is the main feature of Pamuk's works, in which he sketched out the Turkish culture status quo in the east and west cultural conflict and people's living conditions in Turkey. The Turkish culture which was represented by Islamic religious culture was being pushed back by western culture, and that is his creative theme. Pamuk'works told us:Turkey was losing its cultural purity. In other words, Turkey was gradually becoming a mixture of east and west culture. Turkey people were gradually losing their Islamic religion which used to maintain their own identities, which put a lot of Turkish people in identity difficulty. Orphan Pamuk used western novel techniques to present his theme, such as polyphonic techniques, skills and detective fiction elements in stream of consciousness, etc. These novel techniques of western culture not only greatly enhanced capacity and tension of Turkish culture, but also helped shape the works of various perspectives of people. Through his works, Pamuk probe into a method dealing with East-West conflict and the fusion, All Pamuk'works reached such a conclusion:the local culture should keep adhering to its own characteristics while accept foreign culture, and then transform into a mixture of east and west culture; people should retain their national identity and don't give up their own local cultural identity. In today's context of globalization, Pamuk's writing practice has profound practical significance.
