The U.S. was in the period of social transition in the late 19th and early 20th century and along with the rapid advance of industrialization, the labor as a vulnerable group existed in the American society. So the problem of labor rights was particularly noticeable in the early 20th century. Therefore, aimed at the U.S. highlights the truth of labor rights, the governments of this period introduced a series of labor policies (this thesis takes Theodore Roosevelt Government, Wilson Government, Hoover Government and Franklin Roosevelt as the example), ultimately, the labor rights got further protection in Franklin Roosevelt Government.The thesis deals with four parts to discuss the problem of labor rights protection in the early 20th century. The chapter one mainly explains the American society and labor groups in the late 19th century, which provided a foundation for the thesis; the second part mainly analyses initial protection of labor rights and the problem existed around the WW I, which take Theodore Roosevelt and Wilson Governments' labor policies as a basic point; the chapter three expounds further protection of labor rights and some problems in it, by analyzing the adjustments of Hoover Government during the "Great Depression" and the policies tend to favor the labor rights protection on Franklin Roosevelt Government during the "New Deal"; the chapter four has made the summary for the problem of labor rights in the early 20th century from three aspects—"review of labor rights protection", "ponder of labor campaign for rights protection", "rethink of the problem of labor rights". The last part is the conclusion.
