The miserable history of Jews has been with anti-Semitism all the time. After Nazi's cold-blood holocaust, those antipathy, hatred and discriminations against the Jews has already become a typical model of the crime against humanity. And Stalin was a man of paradox in the soviet history, his strength and decisiveness had led the Soviet Union to a great achievement, but his cruelness and despotism also had brought many humanitarianism tragedies. When Jewish problem meets Stalin, here is the topic of this thesis. In many western scholars'views, Stalin was anti-Semitic, and so was his Soviet government. Maybe Stalin had probably had some personal issues with Jews, but as a primary lead of a great power whose action couldn't be easily affected by one's feelings, his policies towards Jews and Zionism were practically utilitarian. By analyzing Stalin's policies in religion, ethnic, the Purge, the Jewish Autonomous Region, the Jewish Anti-Fascist Committee and the Doctors'Plot, this thesis is going to prove that the evidences of Stalin's anti-Semitism were insufficient, and Stalin and his government were not anti-Semitic after all.
