The history of the Jews in England started from 1066,when the Jews came from Continental Europe along with Norman Conquest. However,it was 1290 when Edward I decided to expel all the Jews in the whole England. The main idea of this article is to analyze the reason of this event.Besides preface and conclusion, the text part is divided into three chapters. The first chapter discusses how the kings' policy effected the decision to expel the Jews.Due to the special relationship between the kings and the jews, the kings'policy count for much about this event. We can talk about the reason why King Edward I decided to expell the Jews from three factors:the historical factor, environmental factor, policy continuity. The kings' policy and its influence on king Edward I was the historical factor. The environment in which Edward I were reared was the environmental factor. And the policy when Edward I adopted in Gascony and the failure of Edward Experiment lead to the final decision. The second chapter discusses how the social environment effected the decision to expel the Jews. The social environment exerted a passive influence to the survival of the Jews. It's the important reason of this event. This chapter respectively discusses the church and the public attitude toward the Jews in England. The third chapter discusses how the Jews themselves effeccted the decision to expel the Jews.Jews vulnerability was the root cause of the event.Jews were in the special social status, which cause more rejection. It was difficult for Jews to get land,be integrated into the guild,be equal to compete with other businessmen, which cause the existence of weak economic foundation.Jews were mainly engaged in currency borrowing. It was not accepted by the mainstream society. In fact,it was difficult to fundamentally change the weak foundation. When the borrowing capacity of the Jews was weakened, the utilization value of the Jews was lower. So king financially relyed on the new strength, and eventually abandoned the Jews.
