This paper gets 33 monosyllabic adjective-adverb concurrent words from The Outline of the Graded Vocabulary for HSK ( for short HSK)and analyzes their syntax and semantic features and gives some causes that the concurrent words come into being to provide some reference on how to deal with adjective-adverb concurrent words in HSK.The introduction of this paper generalizes the actuality of concurrent words, address the achievement and the contribution which some previous scholars made on this issue, points out the existing dispute, and tells us which theories and methods we uses in the paper.The first chapter gives syntactic and semantic analysis of 19 monosyllabic adjective-adverb concurrent words that combine one kind of adverb and concludes their characteristics.The second chapter gives syntactic and semantic analysis of 14 monosyllabic adjective-adverb concurrent words that combine two or three kinds of adverbs inside and gets their characteristics.The third chapter discusses some causes of the adjective-adverb concurrent words that come into being based on cognitive theory.The fourth chapter points out some existing problems in labeling the part of speech of adjectives and adverbs in HSK according to standards that we discussed above and provides some reference for it.The fifth chapter draws a conclusion of this paper and gives some possible improvements that can be done later.
