Puccini was not only a great Verismo composer in the 20th century Italy, but also the most successful musician who composed the most Verismo operas. In his life, he composed massive operas of which "La Boheme", "Tosca", "Butterfly Madame" as well as "Turandot" are considered as the most typical ones that are still being performed in grand theatres around the world unflaggingly. Only when a singer fully understands the style of musician's composition and characteristics of music can he precisely grasp the composition and explain characters. The first chapter mainly states Puccini's learning and growth experience, including three parts as follow, the first is his family background and his learning experience;the second is influences of Verismo Literature on him;and the last one is influences of Verdi's operas on Puccini's composition. Chapter two focuses on Puccini's composition style and characteristic, as well as the reflection in opera "La Boheme". In this chapter, section one is about Puccini's creative style which consists of three kinds, the Verismo theme close to nobodies in social life, the feminine theme with more lyricism and tragic color, and the application of exoticism. Section two is about the style of his music, including graceful and flowing melody composition, unique style of chant, using harmonics and color of band orchestrated instruments to create an atmosphere, using exquisite music to describe figure's inward and using Puccini's Reminiscent leitmotiv to describe figures and cases. The last chapter is analysis of four acts of "La Boheme". Through full understanding of Puccini, especially understanding of his creative style and musical style, we get a clear coordinate in explanation of figures, which offers reliable guarantee for the precise reappearance of soul of figures in works.
