The TOEIC BridgeTM test is the ideal starting point on the path to workplace success for English-language learners. Designed for beginning learners, it measures the listening and reading comprehension skills used in an international environment. Language schools, colleges, universities, corporations and government agencies worldwide use the TOEIC Bridge test to assess English-language proficiency.English teaching and classroom assessment can affect each other to some extent. Assessment means to apply some methods such as examination, quiz to evaluate or judge the student's learning achievements. Its function is not only to assess students' learning results in the middle or at the end of the term but also to find out students' barriers in their learning process in order to provide a reference for them to make up. What's more significant is that it can be taken as the criteria to assess the teaching effects and improve the teaching methods and teaching materials. In addition, another function, which can be easily ignored, is that it can encourage students to work hard and stimulate their learning interests. The paper adopts both quantitative method and qualitative method to analyze the test results in Chongqing Energy College in December 2010. The writer also conducts some surveys among the candidates and some students who did not attend the test. All the surveys show that TOEIC Bridge test is widely accepted among vocational students and can truly reflect their English level. So the test has some positive effects on the English learning.
