There are many factors that influence the quality of interpretation. How to weigh properly their impacts on interpretation is the key to a successful quality assessment. Yang Chengshu holds that assessment should be conducted in quantitative assessment and qualitative description, which complement each other in efficiency and accuracy. This paper firstly introduces the status quo of interpretation quality assessment, displays the theories and the achievement concerned with interpretation quality assessment at home and abroad and puts forward the problem of how to assess the interpretation scientifically. Secondly, it introduces Yang Chengshu’s quantitative and qualitative theory. On this basis it brings out two concepts of quality assessment:quantitative assessment and qualitative description of the interpretation texts; seeing interpretation texts as a way of quantitative assessment, taking other factors into consideration is a way of qualitative description. In the end it takes2011Premier Press Conference as a case study.
