Procrastination is very common in daily life, it can be refer to a behavior that people purposive delay in failing to start or meet deadlines, although they expect the situation will be worse. Procrastination can lead to poor performance and health. There is no consistent conclusion about the relationship between procrastination and self-evaluation (self-esteem and self-efficacy). Some papers found that there is a significant negative correlation between procrastination and self-esteem, self-efficacy; others didn't found it. It may be the result of procrastination type and Moderator variable. Hence, present paper explores the relationship among arousal procrastination, avoidant procrastination and self-esteem, self-efficacy, social comparison orientation. The Moderating effect of social comparison orientation on the relationship between arousal procrastination, avoidant procrastination and self-evaluation was examined in this study.The participants were the college students in Chongqing. We use the scale of arousal procrastination, avoidance procrastination, social comparison orientation, self-esteem and self-efficacy as the tool to measure 343 college students, and the results were as follow:1. There are significant sex, grades and major difference within the procrastination type, no sex and grades significant difference within the social comparison tendency, self-evaluation, and no significant difference within all variables on family background.2. Arousal procrastination and avoidant procrastination were negative correlated with self-esteem and self-efficacy.3. A significant difference was found between the relationship of arousal procrastination, avoidant procrastination and self-evaluation. Avoidant procrastination was a significant negative predicator for self-evaluation, but arousal procrastination is not.4. There is a significant difference in social comparison orientation between arousal procrastination and avoidant procrastination. Avoidant procrastinators have a higher social comparison orientation than arousal procrastination. Avoidant procrastinators prefer to use both social comparison of conception dimension and social comparison of ability dimension.5. Social comparison orientation had a significant moderating effect on the relationship between arousal procrastination and self-evaluation, but there is no significant moderating effect on the relationship between avoidant procrastination and self-evaluation.
