Buddhism's dissemination in China can divide into region dissemination and social class acceptance, and these two characteristics are very obvious in Six Dynasties and in region of Jiangdong(江东).Buddhism's dissemination in Jiangdong(江东)is influenced by migration, transportation, custom and economy in Six Dynasties, and this fact is proved in ancient books. Buddhism's two essential factors are Buddhist monk and temple, therefore these two essential factor's geographic distribution decide Buddhism's geographic distribution.Gao Seng Zhuan(《高僧传》),Bi Qiu Ni Zhuan(《比丘尼传》)and Xu Gao Seng Zhuan(《续高僧传》)are the main books about Buddhist monk and temple in Six Dynasties, and the first book is very important. Referencing the three books and other books,we can outline the geographic distribution of Buddhist monk and temple, and reveal the three centres of Buddhism's geographic distribution in Jiangdong(江东)which are Danyang Jun(丹阳郡),the area of Wu and the area of Mount Lu.The three centres influence each other, and the reason of Buddhism prosperity in these three centres have their own local characteristics. This is the content of the first chaptcr. There is an inescapable question derived from the first chapter, which is the number of Buddhist temple in the capital of Six Dynaties.Sun Wen-Chuan(孙文川)wrote Texual Research of Jinling's Buddhist Temple in Six Dynasties(《金陵六朝古寺考》),later Liu Shi-Heng(刘世珩)and Chen Zuo-Lin(陈作霖)added some information to the book successivey, and respectively named their books Texual Research of Buddhist Temple in Southern Dynasties(《南朝寺考》)and the Record of Buddhist Temple in Southern Dynasties(《南朝佛寺志》). Sun's writing is an excellei book, but have many errors. Later generations haven't corrected these errors, and causing th research of this field stagnant. The archaeological excavation at the site of the Porcelain Tower i Nanjing have made important achievements in recent years, especially the discovery Sakyamuni's sarira. It has initiated the research boom of Jiankang's buddhist temple. Somebod make the point that there are 299 buddhist temples in Six Dynaties' capital in this context. Th point have some errors, but make a great progress in the field of Jiankang's Buddhist temp number in Six Dynaties. In view of this, throughing research the original materials and the recorc before Yuan Dynasty, and referencing elder scholars'research, the second chapter make systematic study of Jiankang's Buddhist temple's number in Six Dynaties. This is an very interesting question that Buddhism propagate in the socail class. Lang Wang Family was the first family in Six Dynasties. That has typical significance to reve; Buddhism's propagation in the socail class, throughing research Langye Wang Family acceptance to Buddhism. The social upper class'acceptance to Buddhism has close relations wil academic trend in Six Dynasties. On one hand, metaphysics and theoretical talk was popular i Six Dynasties, so buddhists used metaphysics to explain Buddhism and stuied these two though On the other hand, Buddhism had more profounder theory than metaphysics, and brought moi material for theoretical talk. These fact promote the spread of Buddhism in the social upper clas Through researching Langye Wang Family's acceptance to Buddhism, we can know the spread Buddhism in the social upper class. These is the content of chapter three.Besises the three chapters, there are something need to explain, such as the limitation of tirr and space, the review of related academic research and the textual research of literature materia That is the content of introduction, and the summary of this thesis is the content of the conclusion...
