| Chinese Newspaper Reading, which is listed as compulsory course or elective course in middle and advanced stage, is a very important course in the curriculum system of Chinese Language for foreigners.And it is a professional trainning course in language-skills trainning curriculum. Through this course, students have access to the most authentic and vivid Chinese,also they are able to have full underatanding of Chinese national conditon and Chinese culture from all-around and multi-angle ponit of view.Considering that most learners using English as their first language, this paper focuses on the systematic comparison of Chinese newspaper and English newspaper, aiming to discuss the Chinese Newspaper Reading Course. In this paper, three kinds of each major Chinese and English newspaper can be:People's Daily, China Youth Daily, Yangcheng Evening News in China,and New York Times in the USA, Financial Times and Guardian in British. News about the high anticipated event----2010 Shanghai World Expo opening ceremony on the April 30,2010 will be compared as examples.This paper contains the following parts:Introduction. Research status about comparison of Chinese and English newspaper and teaching of Chinese Newspaper Reading course. The paper's research objectives, contents and methods are described as well.First, the comparison between Chinese and English newspaper.Make comparion referring to six news from five aspects, which are news titles, news content vocabulary, news content grammer, news content pragmatics, and news content discourse.Second, analysis of teaching about Chinese Newspaper Reading course. Depending on the above conclusion, discussion can be made from four aspects----teaching aims, teaching content, teaching methods, and teaching evaluation of Chinese Newspaper Reading Course.Third,epilogue.Review and summarized the main contents of this paper, and outlook the future of teaching Chinese Newspaper Reading course.
