A Study Of Yu Yixuan's Achievements On Vocal Music

Yu Yixuan is one of the most famous singers, educationists and theorist in China in 20th Century. As a singer, she held lots of concerts, had a very large influence. As an educationist, she paid attention to the development of Chinese art of vocal music, composed and published many teaching materials of vocal music. And she cultivated a lot of singers and teachers, for instance, Li Shuangjiang, Guo Shuzhen and Li Xinchang, and so on. As a theorist of vocal music, she contributed her own efforts with regard to the vocal musical problems.In order to have a comprehensive understanding of Yu Yixuan's vocal musical achievements, this dissertation discusses from introduction, three parts of the body and conclusion.At the beginning, the author introduces the three stages of Yu Yixuan's vocal musical road:performance period, cultivation of teachers and theory research period, and teaching period. Her multi-identity in musical history of China:singer, vocal musical educationist and vocal musical theorist. And then, the author introduces the aim, signification and creation of this dissertation.This article analyzes the achievements of Yu Yixuan's vocal musical performance. Combining her experiences, I analyze the inevitability that she became a singer, and discuss the influence of her performances in Chine and in the world.The second part of the dissertation discusses her vocal musical teaching achievements. The author analyzes from the theory basis of the construction of her teaching system and the achievements of her teaching practices. Her teaching idea presents as "combined with voice and emotion" and "searching profundity from the extensity", her teaching methods based on the "philosophical speculation", and she represented her teaching features as individual development. In the teaching practices, she cultivated a lot of excellent singers and teachers, this article cites the instances of Li Shuangjiang, Guo Shuzhen and Li Xinchang, exposed her teaching achievements.The last part shows her research achievements of vocal music. In the research of vocal music theory, Yu Yixuan emphasized practices of vocal music, the fundamental practices of songs and the cultivation of musical quality. As for "the debate between western and local", she defied the prejudice, but combined with "the western" and "the local", and blended the national music and western music. In the construction of vocal music discipline, she invited lots of excellent teachers, paid attention to academic communicate activities, and held the idea of "the importation and the exportation". And she offered a very good exemplification of the construction of vocal music discipline in China.In the conclusion, the author evaluates comprehensively her vocal music career. Yu Yixuan donated her own life into vocal music career and represented an esteemed academic quality and a rigorous erudition attitude. She is the precious pearl in the Chinese vocal music history.
