YUE FU CHUAN SHEGN written by Xu Dachun of Qing Dynasty and published in 9th year of Qianlong is an ancient treatise on vocal music theory of traditional opera,which inherited a range of famous theories such as Song Law written by Wei Liangfu,DU QU XU ZHI written by Shen Chongsui,and further enriched and developed vocal music theory of traditional opera.This book includes 35 chapters,most of which are arguments in terms of traditional opera singing,except for introduction,YUAN LIU and YUAN QU JIA MEN which discuss the relevant problems about music theory.Major elements of this book are essentials of pronounce for vocal singing such as in chapter WU YIN,SI HU,GUI YUN,SHOU SHEGN,BI YIN AND BI KOU YIN etc.and relevant aspects of accent such as in chapter QU QING,XU JI,QING ZHONG,DUAN QIANG etc.which plays a guidance role in China's existing national vocal music.This paper took three aspects such as “pronounce,” “accent”,“music emotion” as the subject,and made case studies of music,BAO LENG DAIO,CHUN HUA QIU YUE HE SHI LIAO,HAI FENG ZHEN ZHEN CHOU SHA REN,expounding the application of the theory of vocal music from Xu Dachun to national singing methods.
