Hamar Uγalaja is an important component of the traditional Mongolian art and one of favorite folk patterns preferred by Mongolians. It has a long history of more than four thousands years, because it is said that the Hamar pattern existed in the Xia Dynasty relics unearthed in Aohan Banner of Chifeng city. For thousands of years, the Hamar pattern has been accompanying with the production and life of Mongolians, witnessing their living and development, and blessing their multiplication. In the minds of Mongolians, it simplifies luck and happiness, expressing their common wishes for happiness and harmony. It is an important heritage of the Mongolian culture.Hamar Uγalaja has been widely used and carefully preserved by Mongolians so that it has been through the long history of evolution, which is a miracle. Regarding the passing and application of Hamar Uγalaja, it turned out that the ancestors of Mongolians created many handicrafts, such as Chagalahu, Aoraomule, Xiridehu, and Hatagamule, by the most typical and oldest means---passing hand by hand from generation to generation. These handicrafts have become effective carriers that have brought Hamar Uγalaja to the modern times and into the life of modern people.This thesis discussed the history, general characteristics, artistic characteristics, passing and preservation of Hamar Uγalaja, and its application in the current production and life. It also analyzed the challenges faced by Hamar Uγalaja under the current circumstances and presented the countermeasures. Moreover, taking the application of Hamar Uγalaja as an example, it explained the value and developmental tendency of Hamar Uγalaja in the modern life from the aspects of the living philosophy and needs of modern people.
