Performance Analysis Of The Erhu "Divertimento Roland Gown Repair-Tathagata Dream"

This paper analyzes the erhu divertimento "Roland Gown Practice- Tathagata dream." Through a combination of research methods, theory and practical, this thesis introduces three chapters of topics for analysis. Hopefully, the author can analyze this piece of music's contributions to the legacy of folk music by exploring its music content, style, characteristics, and creative ideas.Composer Liu Wen Jin composed the "Roland Gown Practice- Tathagata dream" in 1997. The Poem Culture Corporation of Taiwan commissioned the Liu Wen Jin to create a piece of music dedicated to the literary masterpiece, "Roland Gown Practice" (the story of a girl named Ying Luo) by the Taiwanese author Mr. Yuxi. While composing this piece, Liu incorporated the profound Buddhist culture into the culture of traditional Chinese music. This divertimento depicts the literature's content and expression so clearly that it has the most analytical values of most recent music pieces. The composer also very successfully carries forward the legacy of the culture of traditional music. The purpose of this paper is to combine learning experiences and this music to interpret the music's contributions to the traditional Chinese instrumental music creations from a macro perspective.In conclusion, in the ever changing world of music styles of the traditional instrumental music, this divertimento successfully contributes to the continuity and the legacy of the contemporary art of erhu. This work of music promotes the traditional instrumental music culture while it incorporates a clear understanding of the Buddhism philosophy.
