| This paper is a study and analysis of 12 Questions on'Heavenward Questions'and Yin Ji which are the signature works of Zhu Shirui and Qin Wenchen respectively. The paper is made up of two chapters. The first chapter is divided into two sections which are a musical analysis of these two compostitions. The second chapter is a description of the five composing characteristics of structure, rhythm, speed, ornamentation and sound, showcased in these two compositions. Through this analysis, this paper attempts to uncover the different thought processes of these two composers, as can be seen from their two compostitions.
