Research On The Conditions Of Divorced Women In Song Dynasty

With the gradual increase of women now, women's rights in marriage increased, women has become the focus of academic attention.This article discussed on watching the divorced women's direction, property problems and the relationship with their children in the Song Dynasty, studied the living conditions of the Song Dynasty divorced women. This article divided into four aspects. The first part was the case of divorced women who returned their own parents in Song Dynasty. It could be seen from the historical materials, throughout the entire Song Dynasty, the phenomenon of divorced women returned their own parents from the royal clan there down to the civilian stratum was universality. It was also analyzed from various causes that divorced women returned their own parents, and those divorced women have some status. The second part was divorced women who resumed matrimonial relation in Song Dynasty. Divorce was common in Song Dynasty, but divorced women resumed matrimonial relation was unusual, the phenomenon occurred only occasionally, this part also analyzed the conditions of divorced women who resumed matrimonial relation ,the process of resumed matrimonial relation, and the cause of resumed matrimonial relation. The third part was the case of divorced women remarried in Song Dynasty. The phenomenon of divorced women who remarried was common, had occurred in all stratum. This part mainly analyzed the reasons of divorced women remarry, including economic reasons, legal reasons, ideological reasons, the social climate reasons. This part also analyzed the status of divorced women who remarried in Song Dynasty ,and evaluated objectively divorced women remarried in Song Dynasty. The fourth part is the property of divorced women issues in Song Dynasty and the relationship with their children .The property of divorced women had two aspects, that distribution of property when the women divorced and property inheritance of divorced women in Song Dynasty, this part also analyzed the relationship between divorced women and children, children still finial piety their divorced mothers, their mothers still had the rights of shade, cover gifts from sons.
