The overseas Chinese teaching is a special-purposed language teaching, so the aim, the procedure and the methodology of the teaching should embody its characteristics. The aims of the overseas Chinese teaching should proceed from the practical needs of the learners, and both the content and the methodology of the teaching should satisfy the demands of the learners. It will thus bring convenience to the language learners to fulfill their tasks they might come across or need in practical life.The paper has carried out a research among the students from Grade One to Grade Five in the Kyrgyz National University(KNU), which is based on the《The Questionnaires for the Chinese Language Needs Analysis》(Overseas Edition---- in Russian) issued by The Chinese Language Council International in 2007 on www.hanban.org.cn. The research did its investigation by giving the randomly-chosen subjects 64 items to investigate the tasks done by learners during their Chinese language learning. All the subjects are classified into three groups----elementary level, intermediate level and advanced level----according to the sequence of the year they entered the university. Based on the theory and methodology of"Demand Analysis", namely, Michael Long's Theory, the author of this paper studied the learners'demands for language tasks by giving them a questionnaire with 64 items in terms of social, professional and academic fields. As a result, the author is basically provided with the current situation of the three-different-leveled learners in Kyrgyz National University as far as learning demand and application demand is concerned. By analytical study on this current situation of the learners, the paper has got a general picture of the students'demand in language learning and application. By an analytical study to the findings, the author has made some original and practical propositions which might provide a referential measurements and suggestion to the learners in KNU in terms of teaching aims, teaching procedures and teaching methodology used in the overseas Chinese language teaching.
