Conflict And Integration---A Study On The National Consciousness Of Wei-jin Southern And Northern Dynasties

Wei-Jin Southern and Northern Dynasties are the important period of national integration. Many nations such as Huns,Xianbei,Jie,Di,Qiang experienced the migration to inland and national conflict and national integration, which provide rich material for the studies on the national consciousness. Using the inland migration of the different nations in Wei-Jin Southern and Northern Dynasties as the main materials, the thesis mainly study the national consciousness, and try to build the theory of national conflict and integration. The thesis attempts to explain the process on the evolution of national consciousness, to enrich and develope the national consciousness theory.In recent years, the study of national consciousness witnessed fruitful results. But most studies focused on the formation and integration of nations, ethnic conflict in the change of economic environment and the control of national consciousness and ethnic "boundary". The theory of conflict and integration of national consciousness is a new one on study of the national consciousness. Based on this, this thesis is taking the development of the nations of Wei-Jin Southern and Northern Dynasties as the examples for the study of national consciousness. Another innovation is the classification of national consciousness structure. It includes the economic national consciousness, the political national consciousness and the cultural national consciousness.Wei-Jin Southern and Northern Dynasties is the period of the large-scale migration to inland. The change of nation's living space is the premise of the change of national consciousness. The second part of the thesis discusses the national migration to inland such as the Huns,Xianbei,Jie,Di,and Qiang and the rising of national consciousness.Wei-Jin Southern and Northern Dynasties is the period of great national conflict. The conflict of national consciousness is reflected the national conflict on ideology. The third part discusses the performance and features of the conflict of national consciousness, which is divided into the economic conflict of national consciousness, the political conflict of national consciousness and the cultural conflict of national consciousness.Wei-Jin Southern and Northern Dynasties is also the period of great national integration. The national consciousness integration is a necessary process of the national integration. It mainly includes two integration stages, that is the Sixteen States and Southern and Northern Dynasties.
