The Total Physical Response is the teaching method that was developed by James Asher. The main point in this method is to unite language learning and behavior together. It can arouse children's interest, make the process of memorizing more efficient and help them learn better. The main content of the thesis is about how to apply this method to design the Chinese language teaching course to children. When teachers design the course, the vocabulary and expressions that are going to be studied should be first considered. Afterwards these words and expressions should be systematically organized and a set of exercises and songs are used according to the principles of the method. The thesis also contains the lesson plan, which shows how the method is used. The research focuses on practice and aims to make contributions to the application of Total Physical Response Method in teaching Chinese language to children.
