Study On The Folk Culture Of "Evocation"

"Evocation" which is involved with a lot of folk culture is one of the great works in the Chuci. From the formal point of view, it mainly imitates the folk custom of "Evocation" practice; from the content point of view, it relates to the Chu's myth, architecture, food, music, games and other customs; from the aspect of language, you can find the old sound of Chu in it. In general, the research in the custom of "Evocation" apparently made great progress from the early notes to the professional research of modern scholar. However, the research of the "Evocation" in the area of the folk-custom is not all-inclusive because there are different theories to the folk-custom and the research in folk-custom started late.Chapter II is based on previous studies and researchs the folk-custom of the "Evocation" which has been divided from different aspects of the custom. The folk-custom of the article can be divided into eight categories. They are evocation, myths, language, architecture, costume, food, music, games. The main part of this article talks about the various folk-customs and it spread out from the contents of the paper .The research begins from the noble life to the public life to find the causes and significance of cultural development.Chapter III is based on the preceding chapters. To understand the Chu's folk culture, the research begins with the reasons why the Chu's folk culture could be developed. The main reasons are natural environment and historical factors that shape the Chu's unique custom. This part researchs from the two aspects. Finally, this article analyses the current western Wu culture through comparing the development of the Chu's Wu culture.Chapter IV is a conclusion of the paper. The origins of the "Modern Witchcraft"and "the Wu custom" are all because of the natural and historical reasons . The "Modern Witchcraft" was rarely influenced by the government.But the Wu customs were favored by the Chu's lord. The Chu's environment was mysterious and abundant. But the modern people have penetrated into territory where no man had ever gone before, and snatched too many natural resources .Therefore, the world has to face the crisis of natural resources.And the existent crisis and the spiritual stress of modern people were not understandable to the people of the Chu. In a word, the "Modern Witchcraft"and "the Wu custom" were from the primitive thought.But one was the primitive custom ,and the other was the return of the man.
