A Study On Characteristic Representation Of The Guangxi Zhuang Nationality In Piano Works

The Zhuang nationality is the most populous group in China. Throughout history, Chinese composers and musicians have written many unique, glamorous piano works reflecting the cultural characteristics of the Zhuang nationality which are an important component of the Chinese national art. Nevertheless, the study and performance of piano works reflecting the Zhuang cultural characteristics, in particular, have not been taken seriously. By using five different methodologies, this paper studies the revelation of the Zhuang cultural characteristics of this type of works.1. Review the existing literatures on the human cultural, geology, history, and cultural characteristics of the Zhuang nationality.2. Field trip to the Guangxi Zhuang nationality region to collect first-hand data on related topic.3. Reveal the true national characteristics and feelings of the Zhuang piano works by analysis and performance of these works.4. Compare and contrast the Zhuang piano works with works from other national minority groups in China.5. Relate the characteristics of the Zhuang piano works to its cultural, geology, history, and national characteristics.The essence of this paper is the revelation of the characteristics of piano works associated with the Guangxi Zhuang nationality of China. This paper reveals the cultural characteristics of the Guangxi Zhuang nationality, how to express these characteristics in piano performance, etc.
