With the development of science and technology, the Internet has become one of the most convenient and popular information transmission media, meantime more and more companies build their own homepages on the Internet which are gradually taking the place of traditional printed brochures, and has become one of the most important means of business communication between companies and the public. Reading the corporate profiles is the most convenient way to know a company because the CP (corporate profiles) are the direct presentation of the image of a company. However, there is scant research on CP from a functional stylistic perspective so far. This thesis attempts to conduct a study of 25 English CP discourses selected randomly from the Internet based on the Functional Grammar to investigate the style features of it. Through this study the author hopes to prove that the theories of Functional Stylistics which can be employed to analyze English CP are actually effective. This thesis discusses the features of CP from the lexico-grammatical aspects and the semantic aspects. At the lexico-grammatical level, based on the three metafunctions of Halliday this part analyzs CP from the perspective of transtivity, circumstancial elements, voice, mood, use of subject, tense, and theme. The study finds that in CP the main processes involved are material processes and relational processes, while as one of the three main processes, mental processes occur not so much; location and extent elements are the dominant elements among the nine circumstantial elements; and in voice system, active voice takes the first place; the writers of CP choose a lot of declarative mood and a small number of imperative mood, no interrogative mood involved; most of the time they choose'we'as subject; statistics on themes show the fact that experiential themes and unmarked themes are dominant, and few interpersonal themes are used. At the semantic level, the thesis discusses the context of CP and the cohesion features.
