The history events people concerned about are often of political, economical, military and then technological, literary and arts. In most historical writings, plagues are only the decorations of the social turbulences caused by politics, economy and military activities.In this paper, we can analyze the history of Ancient Greek through the plague of Peloponnesian War. It enlarges our knowledge of history and gives us a new angle and see sight of history events. And it provides a useful meaning of plague preventing, controlling and a better known of living condition of human being for nowadays and in future. In this paper we mainly talk about the plague of Peloponnesian War which has been discussed directly or indirectly by history, literary and medical profession. This thesis consists of three parts: forward, main body and conclusion. The forward part contains the reason, intention and meaning of this subject and references the sources. The main body can be divided into three parts. The first part indicates several points of view in the reason of the plague of Peloponnesian. The second part goes deeper to the influence of the plague of Peloponnesian to Ancient Athens and Sparta. The third part bases on the two parts. It analyzes the influences of the plague of Peloponnesian on the social development of Ancient Greek from population, politics, public ideas, medicine and public hygiene. The conclusion is brief of the whole paper. From the analysis of the cause and influence of the plague of Peloponnesian, we can make a conclusion as such: plague is a consequence caused by the cooperation of environment and society. It comes from the civilization of human being, and makes a great influence to human society.
