Research Of Chinese Education In Irrawaddy Delta In Myanmar

Irrawaddy Delta is one of the concentration region of Chinese immigrants in Myanmar. Before 1960s,many Chinese education schools were established by the Chinese immigrants since they lived in a group either in town or village. After 1960s, due to the revolution of the local politics, the Chinese education has been terminated for over half of a century until now. Recently, since the co-ordination of the domestic and foreign politics by the Myanmar Government, the growth of the trading and economic co-operation, and the culture exchanges in between Myanmar and China, all these factors bring the "regeneration" to the Chinese education in the region again. Although the process is a long journey and in difficult circumstances, the Chinese education schools still can be managed to survive with the spirit of the enthusiasm and determination of the local Chinese educated people in their native land and native language. In this article, the author's information is based on a research. The result is to study the Chinese education system and to introduce some of the potential area of the Chinese education school in the region. To discuss the problem of the topic in the present and prospective view as well as the author's opinion and solution.
