Since the Portuguese lived in Macao,Macao's trade had been under the system of joint governance between China and Portugal.At the same time,the development of Macao's trade is also influenced by various factors from home and abroad.Since modern times,great changes had taken place in Macao's trading system and trading environment To explore the change and its impact in Macao trade,this article will take modern business between Macao and the pearl river delta as the main body,from the Angle of dual influence of Chinese and Portuguese trade system,analyze the different aspects such as policy,scale,environment,and through sorting out the actual state of the trade between Macao and the pearl river delta further discussing the two sides in Portugal many factors impact on Macao trade way and influence as a result.Then we can gain a more comprehensive and profound understanding of the economic and trade relations between Macao and the pearl river delta their characteristics.This paper holds that since modern times,the governance power of Macao is basically controlled by the Macao governments.But in terms of trade,it is jointly managed by the trading systems of China and Portugal.The trade system of Macao is basically integrated into the local regional trade system of the pearl river delta.Under the dual influence of China and Portugal,the Chinese factor occupies a dominant position.In the Ming and Qing dynasties,the situation,status and scale of Macao's trade showed different trends due to the different evaluation criteria.Macao's trade position fluctuates with the degree of monopoly in China's foreign trade system,but it keeps a high position for a long time.In the world trading system,Macao's trade position is gradually reduced due to the competition from Spain,the Netherlands,the United Kingdom and other European countries.Macao's trade situation and trade scale are different with trade status.After the establishment of Lappa,Macao's trading system entered the era of the coexistence of Lappa and free ports.In modem times,Macao's trade situation,status,scale and other factors have undergone new changes.Since the 1880s,Macao's overseas trade has been greatly reduced due to the ban on coolie trade.The only remaining ocean trade is mainly the export of opium and other special commodities,and the proportion of normal commodities is very small.Therefore,Macao's scale and status in overseas trade are indeed in a state of decline.However,Macao's trade with China is not unlike that of overseasAfter the signing of the treaty between China and Portugal in 1887,the Macao Portuguese government gained the right to govern Macao.But this did not mean that the Chinese government had been unable to influence the development of Macao's trade As an important part of Macao's trade,the trade of junk must pay the Chinese government a tax on goods when entering or leaving Lappa.And the trade tax was one of the important factors affecting the development of trade.Therefore,the free port system developed by the Macao Portuguese government and the Lappa system controlled by the Chinese government jointly assumed the function of managing Macao's tradeUnder the system of trade governance by both China and Portugal,this thesis organize the base of the overall trade scale data of the junk trade between Guangdong and Macao,Hong Kong and Macao.And we can obtain the actual changes of Macao's trade scale and finds that the overall scale of Macao and the pearl river delta trade is increasing.By sorting out the types of commodities in Lappa and Macao port,restoring the trade route between Macao and the pearl river delta,comparing the industrial system of Guangdong,Hong Kong and Macao,we can not only understand the reality of the trade between Macao and the pearl river delta,but also understand the trade between Macao and Zhuhai as the main body of Macao's trade had become a part of the regional trade network in the pearl river deltaIn modern times,the trade scale of Macao showed a rising trend.However,after comparing the trade scale between Macao and the pearl river delta region,we do find that the importance of Macao in foreign trade is indeed less than that of Guangzhou and Hong Kong.At the same time,under the influence of the political and economic factors of China and Portugal,the relationship between Macao and the pearl river delta has become closer.
