This essay is divided into an introduction, three chapters and a conclusion. Thefirst part of this thesis is about the value and value-concerned items. Max Scheler'svalue is derived from his concept of transcendental idea based on his study ofPhenomenology. By putting forward the idea of prior sensation which differs fromKent's idea of prior Formal, Scheler provides adequate reasons for the existence of thenonformal essence of value. The second part gives a description to the carrier for anykind of value---personality. It discusses the phenomenologica l essence andcharacteristics of Scheler's personality. The third part focuses on the ethicalapplica tion of value. It starts from the issue of primitive goodness and evil to theformation of mora lity and vice. At the same time, it discusses the presence of Values'order in the order of affection in the action of willing. When we are confronted withpredilection, how the order of affection undergoes the value realization through thecalling at a critica l moment.The unbala nceness and disorder of value confront every era. Starting from thediscussion of Forma l and Non-Formal, Scheler confirms the place of value and pavesthe way for a realiza ble ethics. Then through his discussion of the characteristics ofvalue, Scheler expla ins persona lity---the kind essence and individ ual essence ofma nkind which is different from all the other creatures. Since ma n's values includeboth nonmora l and mora l ones, man has to be placed in the mid of goodness and evil.When man is enjoying the high-rank spiritual values, he will be disturbed by the lowrankvalue and senses of shyness. Then this shyness will arouse our goodness and helpus be aware that the value order has been disturbed and overturned. Scheler rebuildsthe order of values by affection and tries to solve the more challenging issues newlyappear in modern society...
