Ultimate Salvation Of Pursuing Resistance

Master and Margaret,written by the former Soviet Union writer Mikhail Bulgakov,is a classical literary text which has endless interpretation.The main line of the work is the events in three days produced by demon Wahlander and his retinues befalled to Moscow,and the story's prototype is the story of Jesus trialed by Pilate in the of the Bible?New Testament.However,it interpreted and reproduced this myth again standing in a broader point of view than Christianity and beyond the record of the Bible.This paper will use compound resistances showed in the text as the entry point to explain and interpret Bulgakov's profound meaning of spiritual world and his hunting for the road of salvation for the mankind.The thesis is divided into three parts.The first part is about the research summary of this work and will mention the purpose and significance of stuying it.The following two parts are the main parts of this paper.The second one is about the unyielding resistance.The text described a fantasy story caused by demon Wahlander who visited to Moscow on the surface,but factually it described the author's persistent pursuit of the true ideals behind the story and it was also the ideal of a Russian intellectual who has intuitive knowledge and sense of social responsibility.The author expressed his ideal by using the special form of absurd and magical outside but the resistance of unyielding spirit inside.There are three types of resistance the author conveyed.The first one is Bulgakov's resistance.Bulgakov did not compromise the power and drift with the tide and maintained his independent personality,although he underwent numerous repression and suffering in his short and troubled life.His resistance in the real world is just the best interpretation of the spirit of pursuing truth and being not afraid of power and resisting bravely which he integrated in his work.Demon Wahlander is the incarnation of king of darkness and evil originally,but he is the God's assistance and the allies and the executor of justice in this text.He also uphold the justice and maintain the faith in God and carry out of the end of the trial on behalf of God.Bulgakov get the help from this new image of demon to resolutely resist this absurd world that also reverse right and wrong.The last kind of resistance is good and it is a force of good against evil world,which including the resistance of master and the resistance of Juses and the resistance of Margaret.Force of good has tremendous power though it looks weak.They resist suffering and evil with love and goodness and truth and forgiveness.The second part is the road to salvation.Bulgakov himself and his characters engaged in all kinds of resistance,but they are not resist only for resistance while resistance is only a means but not the end.His resistance is a weapon to fight with dirty and evil and to alert corrupt and evil soul by the collision produced in the resistance.Bulgakov attemps to make people return to the true and the good and the virtue to attain salvation eventually by reviving the spirit of the people.He pointed out in the book that there are three the road to salvation.The first salvation is from Sofia.The Russian traditional culture have the worship and the desire of divine women,and this complex evoluted into the theory of Sofia finally.People not only see the women as the divine and the perfect God to worship but also think that sinners can expected to receive any relief from her.So Sofia became the power of salvation in their minds.The second one is intellectual salvation.Russian intellectuals assume the duties of"knowledge elite"and"social conscience"like other intellectuals in the rest of the western world.As the holders of"social conscience",they are the guardians of basic human values,such as right and wrong,axiom,justice,etc.As a result,the duties and ideals of intellectuals has become a way of salvation. And it will stretch the eternally far away.The last is the God's salvation of mankind and it is divided into two parts.One of the salvations is in the temporality and another one is the ultimate salvation in the Faramita.God disappeared in the reality in the world.As a result,playing the role of the God,demon Wahlander came to the world to salvate the human and to promote the justice.While in the Faramita,Jesus Christ is no longer a myth but a incarnation of"excellence"and"truth".Bulgakov considered that people should believe in God,because God is the representative of perfection and sincerity and forgiveness and love.People can get the salvation in a world of suffering and evil only by believing the God and closing to the God.And they can find the value of life and get the ultimate salvation finally.Based on the combination of Bulgakov's life and the analysis of the text Master and Margaret,the paper aims to explore the profound ideological and philosophical thought it contained through a comprehensive perspective.Finally,the author warmly and hopefully expressed his concern about the mankind's ultimate destiny and a better future of salvation.
