Resrarch On Guo Moruo's Literary Proses

The Study on Guo Moruo's Works is one of the most importantfields in Modern and Contemporary Chinese Literature Circles. Especiallyon his poems and historical plays, people have got outstanding achieve-ments. The study on his proses, however, is not satisfatory. So the authorwants to try and make some attempts on his proses.My thesis discusses Guo Moruo's literary proses, especially those hewrote during 1920s and 1940s. We can call his works written during1920s the essay period which was just after the summit of May 4thMovement, most of which were written in Boduo Gulf in Japan in 1924.Most of his literary proses during 1940s were witten at the foot of Jin-gang Mountain in Chongqing in 1942. The author aims at the thoughts,implied feelings and how he coveyed his thoughts and feelings, or analysehis unique style of words , etc. It is but right to study these works accord-ing to the historical background and psychology in writing.After studying the contents of his literary proses and the state of hismind and feeling in the literary creation, the author summed up and con-cluded the artistic chatacteristics of his literary proses, which are as fol-lowing,(1) Getting across his personality through common things, and re-vealing connotations through short and concise proses.(2) Displaying variety in forms and extensiveness in contents andstyles.(3)Expressing hismself in a simple, fluent and vivid way.At last, the paper pointed out the Lyrical and musical features, andextensiveness of his thoughts and learning as well as his distinctive per-sonality.
