There is an extremely intimate relation between city and literature. Theheterogeneity. diversity and opening trait of mode of city life provides literat,re adeep and extensive space that expresses meaning. The progress of city has arestricting function to city literature. The relation between city literature and urbanliterature is a species and subordinate relation. Urban literature has distinctly modemsense and the idea of commodity and substance is its core and soul. Urban novelregards "vulgar" as its basic aesthetic principle and the transform of society.unexpected rising of citizen. existentialism and deconstructionism are its profoundbasis of philosophy and sociology. The first stage of urban novel is from l985 to l993and the second stage stnds from l994.Since the middle of 80s,urban novel varies frompaying close attention to a lot of centers to direct writing of orectic realism. Thetheme of it has a tendency from heterogeneous to singleness and the spirit ofhumanism of it also has a tendency from caring fOr ultimate to caring for presellt. Onthe tactic of its narrative, urban novel goes from repelling and refuting the vanwardnarrative to orectic. personal and planar narrative. The language of it also goes fromvulgar to opposing to exerting wit. The especial context in the 90s. new trait of theobjective which is written and the problem of author restrict the progress of urbannovel.
