| Based on the exploration of the peculiar background of metropolitan development of Shanghai city, the paper has probed into the influence on the origin of the Chinese New-Senses by the metropolitan development and its cultural atmosphere, Starting from that, the anther of this paper has first given an analysis of the complicated metropolitan attitudes contained by the Chinese New -Senses and the formation of its literary idea, then put that school back into the general literary circumstance of 1930es to carry out a comparison of the Chinese New-Senses with other literary ideas, and at last concluded its contributions towards the modernization of Chinese novels.Part one is an introduction, in which the starting point of this paper, as well as the problems that need solving will be explained.Part two is focused on the special metropolitan background of Shanghai city and its cultural atmosphere.Part three is aimed to give careful analysis of the complicated metropolitan attitudes contained in the New-Senses.Part four is aimed to analyses the literary idea of the New-Senses on the basis of former three parts.Part five is the conclusion, in which the problems put forward in the introduction will be answered and the contributions of the New-Senses towards the modernization of Chinese novels will be concluded.
