The Commercial Arbitrary Organ Of The Chamber Of Commerce In The Early Republic Of China——A Study Based On Suzhou

Though the study of the history of the chamber of commerce is paid much attention than before, there is a paradox that the chamber of commerce is imaged contrast to the state in many studies based on the chamber of commerce抯 political behavior and public representation. Mediating the commercial disputes is one of the important functions of the chamber of commerce, which has the formal mediation organ, commercial arbitrary organ in the early Republic of China. Based on the SuZhou, the author brings forward a new idea that there has a cooperation relation between the state and the chamber of commerce. The thesis has five chapters. In the introduction the author summarizes some important questions, such as the paradox in now's studies, the research idea and the general situation of this study. In chapter I ,the author research the foundation of the commercial arbitrary organ of SuZhou .In the chapter II ,the author concludes a cooperation between the state and the chamber of commerce based on the study of SuZhou. In the chapter [1I,the author finds both the organ and the merchants pay more attention to the commercial customs than the laws. In the chapterlV the author puts forwards a idea that the commercial arbitrary organ is one of the important resources of the society which is utilized by the state .Though there are much public representation, for the chamber of commercial the organ is an auxiliary body to the formal state judicial organs. In the chapter V ,the author studies the transformation of Suzhou after the 1911 revolution in the view of economic, social and law history.
