The talent thought of Confucian play an important role in the ancient talent-thought history. As the talent thought of the Pre-Qin Confucian is original, it has especially high value on the study of the origin and foundation of the talent thought. It forms the basic structure of our talent thought.The talent standard of the Pre-Qin Confucian. The Pre-Qin Confucian put forward rich and multi-level talent conception, which regarded the gentleman (Junzi) as core. The gentleman should have high level ethics, independent personality, faculty of understanding and basic technical ability. Moreover, he should have administrative and instructive function. Therefore, the talent standard of the Pre-Qin Confucian was the gentleman, who firstly had high ethics, as well as the ability, both administrate and instruct.The Pre-Qin Confucian1 basic thought of the training and using of the talent. The Pre-Qin Confucian analyzed the target of the education from the theory of human nature, and demonstrated the importance of postnatal education, and established the principle of populace education. They laid particularly stress on cultivating the morality of the talent by teaching the ancient books and records and the skill training. Moreover, they put forward the idea of "worthy politics", established the double principle of selection 梐ppoint people both by favoritism and on their merits. They held that the talent must be observed and checked in practice. They paid little attention to the treatment of talent.The feature and history-culture background of the thought. Compared with Taoist School (absolute ideality),Legalists (political practice) and Mohist School (material gain), the Pre-Qin Confucian talent thought have the innate character of ethics and morality. Its social history-culture background was based on the rite system of the Zhou Dynasty and the special old-piled-new period of the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States. The Pre-Qin Confucian traced back to the blood feeling and established the system of ethic value, which determined the innate character directly.
