A Study Of Power Spectral Analysis Of Heart Rate Variability And Psychological Characteristic In Anx Iety Neurosis

With the developement of rating scales for mental health, the study of psychological characteristic in anxiety neurosis has also been improving. Heart rate variability is an index which reflex the function of cardiac autonomic nervous system, thus it can be used on the study of psychophysiological response of patients with anxiety neurosis. This study contains two sections.Section 1 :to better understand the psychological characteristic of patients with anxiety neurosis.EPQ and several rating scales such as HAMAv SAS^ TAK HRSD and SDS were used to assess 30 patients with anxiety neurosis and 30 health controls .The relationship among all these rating scales was also analyzed .Results: 1)N and P scores in patients have significant difference compared with the controls(p<0.05,p<0.01), There are no significant difference between the two in E and L scores. 2) The scores in all the rating scales and EPQ are higher than the controls .(p<0.01).Factors in different anxious severity also have significant differences (p<0.01), the two factors in severely anxioushave difference significantly (p<0.01) while things are not the same between the moderately and mildly anxious 3)There no correlation between the scores in HAMA and TAJ in mild group.in severely anxious group,they have significant positive correlation. The factor of physical anxiety and factor of sleepness in HRSD have positive correlation with HAMA.(P<0.01).Scores in N have positive correlation with the scores in SAS in patients and the scores in HAMA in patients with moderate and severe anxious.Conclusions:!) It indicated that the patients with anxiety neurosis tend to be neuroticism and psychoticism, the former is correlated with the subjective feelings on anxiety and the severity in moderately and severely anxiety.2) Different severity anxiety has different character .the two factors can increase correspondingly with the increasing of anxious severity .the character of severely anxiety is physical.anxiety.3)Trait anxiety is correlated with the severity of anxiety in moderately and severely anxiety ..the higher the trait anxiety is ,the severer the anxiety symptoms are .4)with the increasing of disorders in physical anxiety and sleeplessness ,the severity of anxiety can rise too.Section 2: to explore the disorder of autonomic nervous system in anxiety neurosis , 20 patients and 20 controls were measured using Multiple Physiological Recorder during rest and under video stress.ECG signals were analysed using spectral AR, LF and LF/HF of heart rate variability were obtained . results l):during the rest ,the LF and LF/FIF in patients was significantly higher campared with the controls,the baseline LF/HF ratio had significant positive correlation with HAMA scores and its mental factor .there are no relationship between EPQ and HRV. 2) LF and LF/HF were both increasing significantly in patients under video stress..Conclusions: Anxietyneurosis have exaggerated sympathetic active ,the severity of anxiety can influence the function of autonomic nervous system.
