Fredric Jameson is probably the most influential postmodernist who has been writing from the neo-Marxist perspective.Based upon Marxist theory. Jameson made a critical connection between western culture and its political economy. This paper illustrates his three contributions in this area. First . he argues that Marxism is the bridge between modernism to postmodernism . According to him , Marxist dialectical and wholesome thinking is the critical linkage between the two . Secondly, he connected the routinely segregated cultural elements, like aesthetics, and political economy . He demonstrates thai postmodern theory as a system operates dialectically between the cultural charateristics of postmodernity and the economic forces of multinational capitalism. In this way , while Jameson sets out to analyze the cultural texts, he integrates them within a larger social-economic context by using Marxist theory . Thirdly , he shows that it is possible that a neo-Marxist congnitive mapping can restore a human perspective in the postmodern situation . He thinks that such a human perspective will be able to sowe Marxist emancipatory social projects and , at the same time , foster a revival of both the classic Marxism and the postmodern philosophy.
