In Yan'an Marxism In China

Yan'an period (1938, October-1948, March) is one of the most successful periods of adapting Marxism to China. During this period, Chinese Marxist start to adapt Marxism to China initiatively, not only won a rich and all round theory achievement, but also made a deep and wide influence on the development of Chinese revolution practice, even on the policy of politics, economy and culture of new China. Making a systematic study on the topic has not only certain significance in ideology history research, but also great realistic significance. The paper consists of eight parts, including the instruction and seven chapters in the text.The instruction makes an explanation to the significance and the present condition in research (including achievement and existing problems), the thinking and methods, the creation and defect of Sinicization of Marxism during Yan'an period. After analyzing the present research achievement, we find there exists structural defect in research of Sinicization of Marxism during Yan'an period, for we haven't understood it comprehensively. The paper designs its whole framework from this point of view, meanwhile, it also makes the paper's creation and shortcoming. The paper makes a new orientation to Sinicization of Marxism, and regards it not only as a kind of revolutionary theory, but a kind of advanced culture corresponding to modern Chinese society; and regards it not only the patent of the CCP or the development of the Party's guiding ideology, but a process of collision, mixture and regeneration.Chapter one makes an investigation to the background of the history and culture of Sinicization of Marxism during Yan'an period. Its proposal of the concept is neither prompted by a sudden impulse by Mao Zedong and others, nor the logical inevitability of Chinese revolution development. It appeared with complicated and deep domestic history and culture background, the Sinicization thought before anti-Japan war not only supported available condition for the proposal of Sinicization of Marxism, but entrusted specific connotation to Sinicization of Marxism. The Enlightenment Movement propelled the spread of Marxism, and prepared the ideology and theory condition for the proposal of the cultural policy of new democracy; the change of route and policy of the Communist International opened the CCP members'yoke on their mind.Chapter two mainly investigates the proposal and connotation of Sinicization of Marxism during Yan'an period. Besides the history and culture background we mentioned above, the direct reason why the topic of Sinicization of Marxism was proposed to the whole CCP in 1938 was the contradiction in a series of inner party events during the period. It showed as followings:in the strategic principle to the anti-Japan war; in principle of dealing with the united front between KuoMingtang and CCP; in the evaluation to the parry's line during revolution period. After being proposed in 1938 and continuous enrichment, its concept formed five more regular connotations. At present, there are some different views to the problem in academic circles, and the paper makes discussion on it.Chapter three mainly takes up the main ways of Sinicization of Marxism during Yan'An period. The great achievement had much to do with its special methods. The communist party leaders made a new orientation and explanation to Marxism, and emphasized its methodology, world outlook, and directional guide to Chinese revolution. The leaders summarized the experience of Chinese revolution by Marxism ways and added new content to Marxism by using the rich Chinese history and culture. They pushed the development of Marxism theory forward on the basis of the Chinese revolution practice.Chapter four mainly summarized the study achievement in Sinicization of Marxism revolution theory during Yan'an period. It's the very core of Sinicization of Marxism, mainly including the revolution ways theory that countryside surrounds cities, and the new-democratic society that contains policy, economy, land policy and culture policy, the Party found theory that is characterized by extending the basis of class, centralizing unified leading and strengthening morality training, and military theory that mainly contains guerrilla warfare, anti-Japan warfare and people's war.Chapter five mainly expounds the other achievement of Sinicization of Marxism during Yan'an period. Besides these achievement we mentioned above, it achieved great fruits in philosophy, history and literature theory. In philosophy, it developed Marxism philosophy and summarized experience from Chinese revolution; In historical science, it is mainly showed in ancient Chinese history, history of CCP and history of Chinese revolution. Furthermore, it insisted on historical materialism, implemented class analytical method and put them into realistic political conflict; In literature theory, it mainly insisted that the resource of literature work is the masses'life, and the literature work should serve for the masses and realistic politics.Chapter six mainly expounds the popularization of Sinicization of Marxism during Yan'an period. The Central Committee of the CCP made the theory development principle universal to the whole party through educating cadres and rectification movement in Yan'an. Specifically speaking, to form the practical and realistic ideological itinerary and ideological method of applying theory to reality in the whole party by learning Marxism theory and history of CCP; to resume the practical and realistic ideological itinerary among upper cadres and to clear the thought of anti-proletarian among lower party members through rectification movement.Chapter seven mainly discusses the historical experience and realistic enlightenment of Sinicization of Marxism during Yan'an period. Sinicization of Marxism revealed to us the followings: the basic prerequisite of Sinicization of Marxism is to study Marxism extensively; its main context is to solve the principal contradiction in China; and the main ways are to make Marxism popularization. We should make the practice of Chinese revolution as motive force and testing standard, meanwhile, combine the Sinicization of Marxism with Chinese history and culture. From all experience we mentioned above, we must look back to the current Sinicization of Marxism and improve party members and cadres'Marxism theoretical level, and we must reform their style of work and promote the development of Sinicization of Marxism by solving people's livelihood problems as chief development direction.
