Wang Meng is a prominent figure in modern literary world, both as a writer and a critic. While working diligently producing novels, proses and poems, he has written quite a few literary criticisms out of many years' writing practice. These criticisms reflect his writing mind and special views.Theanalyses are dialectical and the style is elegant. However.by combinating the theory and practice of novel producing, the paper is to discuss the following four aspects respectively. First, criticism: his criticing methods, style and attitudes. Second literature and politics: his change from"interfering the life" to "interfering the soul" and his continuously refreshing views about literature and politics. Third, the oriental conscious stream: his conscious stream is a combination of East and West, which is based on native culture while borrowing that of the west. And the last, the novel cincept. He has unique apprehensions on the concepts of "reality", "plot"," typical" and "style". These literary criticisms mark the theorical tracks he has followed when discovering himself.
