Investigations and analysis are made on the personalities of the Chinese single -child college students of the first generation. Using the method of integrating theory analysis with field investigation,it is found that because of the characteristics of single",they have different family structures and parenthood from the non - single -child college students,which result in their differential personalities. These differential personalities get stable and take shape influenced by school education and social environments.Comparing the personalities of single - child and non - single - child,the paper draws a conclusion:the single - child college students possess the personality advantages of high intelligence level,strong self - confidence and good self- image,strong independent consciousness. At the same time,they have some personality disadvantages like low creativity,poor adaptability,weak compression resistance,getting a-long bad with others,poor ability of independence and weak morality etc. According to the differential personalities of the single - child college students,the moral education in colleges should adopt effective measures,set up a moral education system integrating family,school and society to perfect their personalities.The characteristics of this paper:1.On the researching method,this paper integrates theory analysis with field investigation. On one hand,the theory analysis is based on the field investigation. On the other hand,the materials of field investigation are not just the enumeration of facts and data,which makes the research conclusion reliable.2.On the contents,this paper makes external and dialectic analysis of the personality situation of the Chinese single - child college students of the first generation,which lays a base for the research and education for the single - child group in the future.
