The literature of Hong Kong, is a part of modern Chinese literature. Having been the crossroad between the East and the West, Hong Kong-the former colony, has covered multi-layered cultures and thoughts, which makes the literature of this city has possessed unique style. Especially the handover of sovereignty of it to the People's Republic of China in 1997, this incident has exerted a far-reaching effect on its whole society, obviously without any exception to its literature. Different feelings of Hong Kong people, including happiness, anxiety, optimism and hesitation, can find their own places in texts in this period, and which, at the same time offers us a meaningful angle to analyze literature of Hong Kong itself.Just from this point of view and the conception of "Modern Chinese Literature" raised by Professor Rao Pengzi and Professor Fei Yong, this paper analyzes the short stories in Hong Kong from 1994 to 1997 clearly. Through the point of "border", this paper says that when the border in geography of Hong Kong is changed, it will cause chain reaction to Hong Kong people's mental situation and to the expression of the image of the city in texts also. Furthermore, it points out, the self-anxiety of Hong Kong people in short stories of this period not only has relationship with the coordinate of "border Vs image", but also is a reflection of imagination on country and home. However, facing the handover of sovereignty in 1997, the imagination is full of some tension between Hong Kong people of China and Chinese in Hong Kong, and this could not give us an explicit and sole explanation.
