"Destinies: Concerto of the Holocaust and Nakaba" is British Palestinian writer Rabaial-Madhoun's work.He was awarded the “Arabic Booker” literature prize in year2016 for this novel, which had a great influence on Arabic literature. The main theme of the novel is that British Palestinian Walid and his wife Jolie returned to the Occupied Palestinian Territories by Israel to fulfill the last wish of his mother-in-law.The novel describes the rough fate of the Palestinians who were forced to leave their hometown and the Palestinians who stayed in their hometown but forced to accept Israeli nationality after the founding of Israel. This dissertation is divided into three parts. The first part is introduction, mainly introducing the writer and his representative works, the reason of choosing this topic, the significance of this research as well as domestic and foreign research summary. The second part is the main part of the dissertation, separately analyzing the identity anxiety of both Palestinians who went into exile to other places and Israeli Palestinians in this novel.Using psychologist Rollo May's anxiety theory, the dissertation analyzed the reason of Palestinians' identity anxiety in this novel and eventually found out the solutions to get rid of identity anxiety, achieving the reconstruction of Palestinians' identity. The third part of the dissertation is conclusion, summarizing the main viewpoint that seeking common ground while reserving differences and living together is the only way to solve conflicts and is also the mere solution to get rid of Palestinians' identity anxiety. In the meantime, through the study of Palestinians' identity anxiety, this dissertation can raise people's attention to the current Israeli Palestinian peace issue.
