| There're no enough attentions on the poetry and Ci of Qing dynasty in the academic circle, as a result, many important composers are encountering unfrequented. This thesis, choosing Gu Zhenguan in the beginning Qing dynasty as a case study, based on huge volumes of first-handed data, unveils the lettered man on the south of Changjing River for the first time. The thesis contains general picture of Qing Ci and Gu's literary career; Gu's life and family history; his Ci theory and Tanzhi Ci; his pomes and other works of art; his literary status and influence. Two appendixes are affixed: Wuxi Gu's pedigree and chronological table.Born to a prestigious family, Gu Zhenguan had a checkered journey through his political career and lived as a recluse most of his life. Gu's literary genius gave rise to emotional Tanzhi Ci and four volumes of pomes with different style. Gu and his good friend Nalan Xingde contented that Ci-composers should state the soul frankly. Their collection of Contemporary Ci weighed heavily on the literary field of Ci. As a witness, participator of literary activity in the Beginning Qing dynasty and representative of Wuxi elegant literature, Gu's status and influence can not be ignored. |
