As a member of minority nationalities, after Tibetan undergraduates entered other cultures from their familiar mother culture, on the one hand, they faced dilemma of ethnic identity, on the other hand, they faced torture of acculturation, at the same time, they also faced disturbance of mental alienation. Combining with qualitative and quantitative study, this study exployed 285 Tibetan undergraduates to examine relationships among Tibetan undergraduates' ethnic identity, acculturation and mental alienation. The results showed that:1. Tibetan undergraduates' ethnic identity mainly involved three aspects: negative ethnic identity, positive ethnic identity and mainstream culture identity. Different aspects of ethnic identity were affected by different factors. But generally speaking, Tibetan undergraduates' ethnic identity might be prediected by the number of Han nationality friends, by the time of learning chinese, by parents' nationality identity and the reception of Han nationality.2. In the course of acculturation, Tibetan undergraduates mainly used acculturation strategies of integration, assimilation and seperation. These three kinds of acculturation strategies were affected by different factors. But generally speaking, Tibetan undergraduates' acculturation strategies might be prediected by factors of parents' nationality identity, the number of Han nationality friends and grades.3. There existed more complicate relationships among ethnic identity, acculturation and mental alienation. But generally speaking, not only did mainstream culture identity have influence on acculturation strategies and normlessness, but also had influence on negative ethnic identity and positive ethnic identity. Of course, some influences were direct, others were indirect;some were positive, and the others were negative.4. Acculturation strategies of assimilation and seperation not only influenced respectively and directedly negative ethnic identity and positive ethnic identity, they also influenced mental alienation. Besides this kind of direct influence, acculturation strategies of assimilation and seperation were medium variables that mainstream culture identity affected other two kinds of compositions of ethnic identity and mental alienation.
