The Respect Doctrine Of Li Tuixi And Its Realistic Meanings

Li Tuixi synthesized and brought Cheng and Zhu's doctrine to highest development in Li Dynasty of Korea. He felt deeply convinced the doctrine of respect proposed by Cheng ang Zhu, and did his utmost to publisize and develop it. While carrying on the doctrine of respect over all,he made an important contribution to its development. In all of the Korea's confucianists, who carried on and developed the doctrine of respect, he was thought to have made the greatest contribution for it. In this paper, the writer started with investigating the historical origins of respect thoughts,then deeply elaborated the rich intension inluded in the respect doctrine of ,> Li Tuixi and the realistic meanings it brought to us with the methods of history in combination with demonstration comparative study. Detailed discuss as following:Firstly, all the interpretations appeared in the Pre-Qin books and records, such as ((Shangshu)) , 獿unyu)> , CZhouyi)) etc, have been investigated.Secondly, it began with the replacement of "calmness doctrine" projwsed by Zhou Dunyi with the "respect doctrine" proposed by Cheng Hao and Cheng Yi ,discussed the rich implication that Cheng Hao, Cheng Yi and Zhu Xi had entrusted to the "respect" thoughts and held the process of "respect" thoughts formed in Song Dynasty.Thirdly.it analyzed the day background of Li Tuixi and the links of "respect" thoughts and other philosophy thoughts on the basis of understanding the historical origins of "respect" thoughts; clarified the reasons why Li Tuixi paid attention to it. After that, it was divided into three parts梩he conception, function, and art of "respect"?to discuss the rich intension included in the respect doctrine of Li Tuixi.At last, the realistic meanings and values of the respect doctrine of Li Tuixi to the development of personality in 21 Century were being explored from the point that confucianists faced up to the life and aehieved the live's values and meanings in realistic society.
