As we all know,“Cheng” has the highest philosophical status in the history of Chinese philosophy.The reason why it has a high status is not only because it can generate all things,regarding as the highest standard of all things,but also it has rich philosophical meaning and as the source of all thoughts.“Cheng” is considered as destiny in “The Doctrine of the Mean”,destiny has achieved the nature of all things;while the Tao is generated on the basis of temperament.By analyzing the relationship between “Cheng” and “Tao”,it is easy for people to accept the fact that “‘Cheng' is the highest philosophical category in “The Doctrine of the Mean”.“Cheng” guides the generation of all things,and everything has become the endorsement of “Cheng”.“Cheng” exists in the nature of all things.All activities that are carried out on the basis of nature are showing “honesty”,and the process of showing “Cheng” is Tao.People are inclined to understand Tao through self-cultivation,even to establish Tao.Humanity is the only way for being adult,the starting point for self-cultivation begins with knowing the destiny,that is,relying on its innate nature to discover potential humanity.People should always be sincere and whole-hearted in daily lives,and finally realize the "harmony between man and nature." The secret of self-cultivation is to emancipate the nature of human being to maintain a harmonious relationship and to cultivate three ethics “knowledge”,“benevolence” and “courage” in practice.Only when people have possessed the morality of the world,can they become a “sincere”,in other words,the sage.The sages always take “sincerity” as the heart to participate in the popularization of heaven and earth,and to help the cultivation of other things.At last,the meaning of being born and being human is realized.Confucianism values the methods of self-examination and self-cultivation and believes that self-cultivation begins with self-examination.The process of self-examination begins from self awareness,and the critical standard of self introspection self awareness.People's understanding of self awareness can be obtained through enlightenment.Enlightenment is a part of monasticism.“Teaching” is the way to obtain knowledge.“Enhancement” is the result of knowledge application.The ultimate goal of education is embodied in “enhancement”.“Enhancement” is to achieve the “self-renewal” of people through elf-correction and the pursue of the goodness.The morality pursued by the noble people always turns to be complex and concealed,therefore it requires people to pay more attention to the strict requirements of themselves all the times.Confucianism encourages people to fix it when it is wrong and “If there is change,then nothing will increase.” Self-examination and correcting mistakes immediately means realizing a path of sincerity and self-confidence.By adopting the “Cheng” of nature,we will cultivate our hearts;and by maintaining the “Cheng” of nature in the reformed actions,we will have a “sincere” heart and realize a kind of internal and external consistency.“Cheng” is seen as bridge that can achieves the consistency between inner soul and external actions,and the way to be internal and external is also a characteristic of human nature.In addition to the nature of “Cheng”,we also need to pay attention to the role of education to maintain a kind of harmonious between people's internal and external ways.“Ritual” is the guarantee of honesty and clarity,“Ritual” is one of the learning contents of Confucian.Confucianism values the role of rituals and pays more attention to the spirit behind the rituals.Confucianism advocates using courtesy to regulate the relationship between people,to reconcile the contradictions,to be loyal to their own heart,tolerate and understand other people,and eventually contribute to the establishment of a harmonious society.“Cheng” is the key for being adults,by keeping “Cheng” in mind,people can practice the doctrine of ZhongYong.In daily lives,we must always practice the virtue of “Cheng”,stick to it and implement the “Cheng” with practical actions and to realize the virtue of ZhongYong.Only when people can acknowledge and affirm the status of “honesty”,all the things achieved by “Cheng” can not be destroyed,and all things can be carried out in a sincere manner.Moreover,as a member of all things,people can recognize their own status in the world to achieve “stay hungry,stay foolish.”...
