This these is directed against the phenomena in the Traditional Chinese Painting Art Circle in which too much stress has been laid on the superficial form, but the spirit of Chinese Traditional Culture has been neglected. It is put forward that the Chinese Traditional Culture Spirit is the only Soul that the Traditional Chinese Painting depends on. That is the so-called "Undying Spirit Bird" by the westerners. And, the two foundation theories of Traditional Chinese Painting are pointed out: One is using the form to show the spirit; the other is the vividness of "spirit" and "charm". Furthermore, the reasons why "spirit" and "charm" can be the two foundation theories of Traditional Chinese Painting are given. From these, some pieces of advice and the future developing direction of Traditional Chinese Painting are deduced.
